Good Afternoon Travels, I am back and better then ever, yes I have been gone for a sometime, nothing like a life getting in the way of things that I love to do. But I am happy to announce that I will be back on the road next week and my "Award" winning Travel Blog will be back and better then ever.

Ok I am sure you are wondering what Awards did your Blog ever win, well I won the 2010 Best Travel Blog given out by my Son, Nicholas Palmay. OK maybe he is only 6 years old at the time it still is a win right?

Ok enough joking around, this week I get back on the road to check out The Marriott Newport Coastal Villas, while this resort is a Timeshare location you still can find it on the Web for weekly stays. I admit to being an owner at this location but still will be very fair in my opinion and will do my best to journal about the area, the things to do and the restaurants in the area.

So if you are reading this and have any places that I must visit then please just leave a comment!

Thanks and I am glad to be back!

US AIR Makes It From Worse To First....WOW

Wow who would have thought that they could have made such a turn around but according to data from the Department of Transportation, full-year results are in for 2008, and Hawaiian, Southwest and US Airways are the nation's most punctual airlines.

For the year, perennial leader Hawaiian Airlines topped the list, with 90% of its 2008 flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. Among the nation's top 10 carriers, Southwest was the nation's most-punctual performer, with an 80.5% on-time rating for the year.Of the nation's six traditional hub-and-spoke carriers, the title of most-punctual went to US Airways, which had an 80.1% on time-rating for 2008.

That finish capped a dramatic turnaround for the carrier, which just a year earlier had earned a notoriously poor reputation on operational issues en route to placing last out of the "big six" carriers for on-time performance.

US Airways wasting no time had a Press Release Statement released from the company's Tempe, Arizona headquarters -– in which the airline called attention to its improvement. The release is headlined: "Airline Leaps from Worst to First among the "Big Six" Hub-and-Spoke Carriers.""The first place ranking amongst the Big Six for the year is a direct reflection of the hard work and determination of our 34,000 employees," US Airways CEO Doug Parker says in the statement. "While 2008 was a very challenging year for the airline industry, our employees pulled together to deliver an amazing operational turnaround."

The company’s statement adds: "Year over year, US Airways jumped from sixth to first in on-time performance among the six largest hub-and-spoke carriers (American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and United Air Lines), achieving a 16.5% improvement over 2007."Until Next Time,John C Palmayhttp://www.bargainshopperstravel.com/

Vegas is Cheap Baby !!

Las Vegas is trying to help spur Economy by offering some fantastic deals including Free Food and even at times Free Night stays. The bonus for all of this is you don't even have to be a High Roller to get in on this action.

"We realize we are in difficult economic times, but we understand that people want to take a break and still have a good time," says Vince Alberta, spokesman for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). "Vegas is the place to do that." About 37.5 million people visited Las Vegas in 2008, down 4.5 percent from the year before, reports the LVCVA.The low airline and hotel rates will enable travelers to upgrade, and some travelers are already taking advantage, travel experts say.

Hotel room rates often are lowest on weekdays. The five-star Venetian and Bellagio hotels are promoting rates less than $170 a night. The rooms usually go for around $300 a night."We've never seen the changes quite so dramatic and quite so erratic in such short periods of time," says Scott Voeller, vice president of hotel marketing and advertising for the five-star Mandalay Bay Hotel, an MGM Mirage property. Mandalay Bay is offering rooms for $90 a night, and customers purchasing certain packages with a minimum two-night stay will receive a free round-trip flight for a future visit to Vegas. And if you're looking to save more, less upscale hotels are touting hostel-like prices.

The Sahara Hotel & Casino is selling rooms from $19 a night, according to the hotel's Web site. The Imperial Palace, owned by Harrah's License Co., is offering weekday rates as low as $35 a night.Hotels are even sweetening the deal with add-ons such as gift certificates for massages and fine dining. The Palms Hotel offers a $50 credit for food with some reservations. Customers purchasing a three-night package at any MGM Mirage Las Vegas property will receive complimentary tickets to a Cirque de Soleil show.

So with deals like that how can you go wrong?Feel free to check our Website www.bargainshopperstravel.com for some great Deals to Vegas.

Long Weekend Trips can be just the Answer...

In these tough times your family might just need a long weekend in order to help you relax but still have that feeling of getting away. Please take a second and visit our website where we have several packages to choose from, some that even have airfare included. www.bargainshopperstravel.com

If you are located on the West Coast how about a long weekend in Vegas, it really isn't as expensive as you may think since since the casinos are lowering prices on the rooms trying to attract new customers since the gambling revenue is down by 10% or so. So this is a great opportunity to book a room in the hotel that you have always wanted to stay in.

OK many of you are saying "John what did you put in your cereal this morning? How can we relax in Vegas"? My answer is when was the last time you visited Vegas, it isn't all about the gambling and the Late Night Parties, you can choose just what you want to do and they have great spa's in nearly each big hotel.... Try Vegas Baby, (even if you want to relax)

If you like travel and take vacations then I have a great Website for you where you will be able to save money on your trip which will allow you to have more Fun when away. I am talking about www.bargainshopperstravel.com, now you have heard of all those other large travel company websites but ours features a little added twist. Know what I am about to tell you will not go over well if you are a owner of a Timeshare. But here I go, you can book Weekly Rentals at Timeshare Resorts right through www.bargainshopperstravel.com . So lets say you are going to Disney World later this year with the Family or maybe even two families, now instead of staying in a hotel where you might pay $139.00 dollars a night, plus tax and then of course food. Instead you can stay in one of the many Timeshare Resorts in the Orlando area for $299.00 for the week, which when I just looked was a 2 bedroom Condo unit and this is the best of all WITH A Full Kitchen..... OK you can start thanking me now... I just saved you over $700 on the room alone, plus lets remember you can cook instead of eating out all those days and nights. Don't believe me please go look at our website and then thank me later.
